NEW YORK — Footwear and apparel brand Ocean Minded Inc., a subsidiary of Crocs Inc., announced Thursday the appointment of Andrew Palmer to the newly created position of GM.
Palmer, a co-founder of U.K.-based action sports brand Animal, comes to Ocean Minded with more than 20 years of experience in that arena. As CEO for Animal USA, he built the U.S. business and managed global sales. More recently, he worked as global sales director for Dragon Optical Inc., which produces sunglasses and goggles. There, he expanded the company’s product offerings to include apparel and grew sales by more than 100 percent in less than four years, according to a statement released Thursday.
Ocean Minded founder Gary Ward said in the statement that Palmer’s duties would include managing the day-to-day business, as well as working on the domestic and international markets. “Andrew’s global brand experience and proven entrepreneurial background will allow us to continue with our rapid growth plan,” said Ward.
