NEW YORK — New Balance announced Monday the appointment of Alan Hed as its new international EVP.
Hed, who comes to the Boston-based company from Levi Strauss & Co., has 25 years of experience in the international markets and has worked in Asia, Europe and South Africa, according to a company statement.
“The opportunity for the New Balance brand around the world is great, and we are excited to have Alan lead our effort,” said Rob DeMartini, New Balance CEO, in the statement. “Alan has a long and successful track record in both developing and mature markets, and his leadership skills and experience will help transform New Balance into a top-tier global brand.”
Hed mostly recently was president of the Asia Pacific division at Levi Strauss and previously worked as VP of sales and marketing for Citibank in Thailand and at Procter & Gamble Co., where he worked in the U.S., Europe and Asia and established the company’s Vietnam operations.
Hed will work out of New Balance’s Boston headquarters.
