Located in the Union Square district, the 2,400-sq.-ft. store at 285 Geary St. will house men’s, women’s and children’s product. The store will also serve as a model for future store expansions.
“San Francisco is recognized as a community of active, outdoor enthusiasts and urbanites, all synergistic to Merrell’s core company values,” Seth Cobb, VP and GM, said in a statement. “We are excited to be a part of San Francisco’s retail community and to take on an active role in our flagship’s city.”
The store’s design plays up Merrell’s focus on the active outdoor market by featuring a mix of natural and technical materials that bring an outdoor aesthetic to the location.
Supporting the brand’s commitment to the outdoor lifestyle and its core audience, the company is pursuing partnerships with city parks, sports organizations and charities in the metro San Francisco area. Additionally, the store will house a community bulletin board that serves as a resource guide to the outdoors through sponsored events and seminars.
In addition to footwear, the store will offer the brand’s technical apparel, packs and bags.
