NEW YORK — K-Swiss Inc. said Tuesday that it is the official run course sponsor at The Ford Ironman World Championship, being held in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, Oct. 6-12.
In addition, K-Swiss said it will introduce a limited-edition Ironman 2008 commemorative shoe collection at the event, including the new K-Ona shoe, which will hit stores in spring ’09.
Seven athletes representing K-Swiss U.S.A and Australia will wear the K-Ona, which emphasizes breathability, drainage and cushioning.
“The K-Ona is the culmination of design input from today’s top competitors. They have been tested and proven by all our athletes,” said K-Swiss sports marketing director Erik Vervloet in a statement Tuesday. “K-Swiss has been pushing the envelop in technology for more than 40 years, and we believe the advancements in our technical Tri product will help further our athletes and the sport.”
