NEW YORK − To wrap up the 23rd anniversary of Nike’s Air Jordan, the Beaverton, Ore.-based company is launching the Air Jordan XX3 Premier today, Dec. 23.
The anniversary coincides with Jordan’s legendary jersey number 23, and today’s launch will be the brand’s final style of 2008. The jubilee began in January with the release Air Jordan XX3 in black and university blue, a reference to Jordan’s early years at the University of North Carolina.
The Premier comes in red and black, recognizing his career-making years with the Chicago Bulls. The limited edition style is available through 23 retailers that will stock 23 pairs each. Collectors can track down their kicks through the online retail locator at jumpman23.com. In keeping with the numerical theme, price points are set at $230. If that weren’t enough reason to celebrate, the Air Jordan XX3 Premier is the company’s first basketball shoe to meet Nike Considered criteria for sustainability.
