NEW YORK — Adidas is ready to bounce.
The German athletic company will officially release three videos this Friday celebrating its new shoe: the TS Bounce Commander. The shoe, the next iteration of Adidas’ “Command and Create” line of on-court basketball shoes, hit U.S. this Monday. Worn by NBA players including Dwight Howard (the lead face of the launch), Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan, the style features a new “Bounce” midsole, a TPU piece that leverages the material’s inherent rebounding properties and resistance to temperature change. The $110 style, in four different colorways, will be available at Finish Line, Adidas Sport Performance stores, Sports Authority and Eastbay.
The videos, hosted by Howard, are intended to show basketball fans different facets of the shoe. One video will explain the technology behind the shoe, and two will follow Howard as he explores Adidas’ NBA Testing Ground laboratory, where the Portland, Ore.-based brand tests the TS Bounce Commander shoe as well as TechFit PowerWeb, its basketball-specific compression gear, which will launch at the 2009 All Star game in Phoenix.
The Adidas Lightning Creator model, the next evolution of the campaign (this time focusing on the “Create” side of the game), will launch in early February.
